Head Football Coach Coach Shivers, among all of our coaches, has had the most successful sports career. He was a local South Mountain High School football and track star winning both the 100 meter and 200 meter dash in the state championship his senior year. He received both All-State and All-American honors in high school football and was rated the 17th best safety in the nation by Student Sports Magazine in the year 2000. He was also team captain and led the team defensively in all major statistics. His success in high school was a prelude to what was yet to come. He literally repeated the same success in college after earning a full ride scholarship to ASU and set multiple records as a free-safety that still stand today. He was awarded the Defensive Most Valuable Player award in 2003 along with the Babe Alex Demon Award as specials team MVP. After four seasons at ASU he left for the NFL and was drafted in the 4th round. He played 1 seasons with the Chicago Bears and 2 season with the St Louis Rams. After that he played 2 seasons in NFL Europe and then spent 4 season in the Canadian Football league in Canada. Now that his playing days are over he has aligned himself with our organization and runs our flag football program and football training camps. |
